Shots fired complaint leads to attempted murder charges
February 15, 2019, Barrington, Nova Scotia…Barrington RCMP was called at 10 a.m. on February 13 to several complaints of shots being fired in the area of Scotts Mill Rd. The investigation revealed a Barrington Passage man had suffered a minor gun shot wound and other non life-threatening injuries. The man was treated in hospital and has been released.
The RCMP Southwest Nova Major Crimes Unit is investigating. There are a number of suspects. The RCMP obtained a warrant to enter the suspect’s home, which occurred on February 14 in the afternoon. Barrington RCMP was assisted by the RCMP Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services, and the Forensic Identification Unit. Four people have been arrested, and they are in currently in custody, facing charges of attempted murder, plus several additional charges. The suspects and victim are known to each other and police have determined this was not a random act.
