Man injured in shooting at home in Onslow Mountian

December 13, 2018, Onslow Mountain, Colchester County, Nova Scotia . . . At approximately 10 p.m. on December 12, a man was injured when several shots were fired at a home on Onslow Mountain Rd. The initial investigation has indicated that several other shots were fired. A vehicle was damaged by gun shots as well. In addition to the victim, a woman and an another man were present in the home when the incident occurred, and they were not injured. Investigators have determined that the suspect(s) parked a vehicle on the road near the home, approached on foot, then left the area in the vehicle. Initial indications are leading police to believe this was not a random act.

The victim was transported via EHS to local hospital then taken via LifeFlight to hospital in Halifax for further medical treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The investigation is being led by the RCMP Northeast Nova Major Crimes Unit. Additional RCMP resources assisting with the investigation are Police Dog Services and Forensic Identification Services.
