Robbery & Assault

Halifax Regional Police are investigating a robbery & assault that occurred on Dec 30th in Halifax.

Officers spoke with a 55-year-old male who reported at approximately 11:30pm he was walking in the pathway near Forbes Street and Lynette Road when he observed two males walking towards him. The victim spoke briefly with one of the males after recognizing him from the area. Shortly after walking away, the victim was knocked to the ground and assaulted by both males who were kicking him in the torso. Shortly after the suspects fled, the victim realized that he was missing his cell phone, cigarettes and a small amount of cash that had been taken from his jacket pocket. The victim was examined by EHS and transported to hospital with what is believed to be non life threatening injuries.

The suspects are described as:

1. Black male, approximately 6’1” tall wearing a red coat and blue jeans

2. White male, approximately 5’9” no clothing description obtained.
