Crime Stoppers and Kings County RCMP are asking for the public’s help in solving an Armed Robbery which happened at the Irving Big Stop in New Minas, NS
On December 2nd, 2016 at 3:19 AM New Minas RCMP responded to a complaint of an armed robbery. RCMP attended and but the suspect had already left. RCMP spoke with the clerk who advised an unknown male with a black balaclava on the top of his head walked into the store, approached the counter and demanded money and cigarettes.
The suspect was holding his left hand in his pocket and told the clerk he had a knife and to hurry up. The clerk gave the suspect a small amount of money and several cartons of cigarettes and the suspect left the store getting into a dark colored vehicle travelling down the Connector Road towards New Minas.
In store surveillance cameras were not working at the time and as a result, a sketch of the suspect was obtained. The suspect is described as follows:
- Height – 5’8 to 5’10;
- Weight – 300 to 320 LBS;
- Husky / stocky build;
- Scruffy face;
- Dark brown eyes;
- Black balaclava on his head;
- Dark jeans;
- Dirty white sneakers;
- Deep voice;
- About 35 years of age;
- Medium tan complexion, possibly aboriginal or a black male;
- Black and white tribal triangular tattoo on his right forearm;
- Driving a dark color (black or blue) car (sedan);
