Unsolved Homcides Sheet Harbour

 

Homicide ! Homicide 2On December 12th, 2012, the remains of 59-year-old Earle Stewart of Herring Cove Road and 22-year-old Matthew Hebb of Herring Cove Road were found after emergency personnel responded to a structure fire off Highway 374 near Sheet Harbour. Officers from the  Major Crimes unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continue to work to solve these crimes and remain committed to these investigations.

Police are hoping that persons with information will come forward to speak with investigators with the goal of ultimately leading to an arrest in this case.  ‘The community plays a critical role in solving crimes and we need their help with this case,’ says Constable Jody Allison of the Major Crimes Unit. ‘Any piece of information could prove useful to investigators.’

Anyone with information regarding the person (s) responsible for the murders of Earle Stewart and Matthew Hebb is urged to contact any RCMP office or Halifax Regional Police.  People with information can also contact Nova Scotia, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or by a Secure Web Tips at www.crimesstoppers.ns.ca. Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash award
