Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in solving the following crimes being investigated by the Sheet Harbour RCMP
1. A two-storey cottage situated on Moosehead Lake in Moosehead, NS was found burnt down. The suspected timeframe for the fire is between February 14th/2009 and February 19th/2009. The location of the cottage is isolated and can only be accessed by ATV or snowmobile. The cottage and all of its contents were completely destroyed resulting in thousands of dollars worth of damage. Based on the circumstances, this incident is believed to be an arson.
2. An older-style outbuilding on a family homestead was found to be the target of break/enter and theft. The property is situated 0.5 kms into the woods from Shiers Road in Harrigan Cove, NS. The suspected timeframe for the offence is between February 7th/2009 and February 21st/2009. Forced entry was used and large tire tracks from an ATV at the scene are believed to have been made by the suspect(s).
The following items were stolen:
– 14 foot Sun Chief fibre glass canoe, brown in colour, chunk of foam missing from exterior of frame, a 1984 Honda 200 3-wheeler, red in colour, 1971 Ski-Rule 200cc snowmobile, green in colour.
3. A cabin situated on John Lowes Stillwater off of Moser River North Road in Moser River, NS was found burnt down. The suspected timeframe for the fire is between March 10th/2009 and March 14th/2009. The cabin is accessible by 4-wheel drive vehicles, ATV, or snowmobile. The cottage and all of its contents were completely destroyed resulting in thousands of dollars worth of damage.
