Arson – Lower Sackville

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in solving a case of arson which took place at a business in Lower Sackville Nova Scotia.

At around 1:15 am on Monday July 12th, 2008 Lower Sackville RCMP responded to an intrusion alarm at Key Largos on First Lake Road.

Upon arrival the building was discovered to be on fire.

Investigators have determined this was and arson and are asking for the public’s help in identifying the person or persons responsible.

Theft – Windsor Junction, NS

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in solving a case of Theft of 40 tons of steel from Kermit Lane in Windsor Junction Nova Scotia.

Lower Sackville RCMP report the steel was last seen three to four weeks prior to June 19th, 2008.

The steel is worth about $8,000. If cut and taken to a recycling station. A truck with a hydraulic lift would be required to remove it.

Annapolis Valley Region Unsolved Crimes

Sometime overnight of Thursday March 13th 2008, a white 2005 Ford F-150 pickup was stolen from Fundy Ford in Middleton. The truck had been parked in the back area of the dealership and was locked at the time of the theft.

Between Monday, April 21st and Friday, April 25 2008, multiple break and enters occurred in the Waterloo Lake area. Several Cottages and sheds were broken into and seasonal items stolen.

Numerous break, enters and thefts occurred overnight Thursday, June 5th 2008 at various businesses in Middleton, Annapolis County. Culprit(s) stole cash, GM product ball caps, jewellery, Biolarge hair care products and a 2006 Chevrolet Impala.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. on Monday, June 9th 2008, a green Dodge Caravan driven by a lone male, described as approximately 20 years old, wearing a white ball cap with hair “winded out”, struck and killed a 65 lb Valley Bulldog. The collision occurred on Highway 1 in Bridgetown East. The suspect vehicle appears to have struck the dog purposely as he sped up and swung into the wrong lane of traffic to hit the dog. The driver of the vehicle did not stop.

Break & Enter – Yarmouth, NS

Crime Stoppers and Yarmouth Town RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance solving a break enter & theft which occurred sometime over night of June 9th and 10th, 2008.

One or more thieves forced their way into Tri-Star Industries and stole the following described items valued at approximately $8,000.

Yarmouth Mig(1). Miller Spectrum 2050 plasma cutter, size 2feet x 2feet x 3 feet, weighing 90 lbs. (machine looks similar to a welder and is used to cut aluminum and steel using electricity and air)
(2). Makita jigsaw model 4300BV
(3). Makita grinder
(3). Hitachi jig saw
(4). Walter grinder
(5). 6-7 Chicago Pneumatic drills
(6). 8 – 20 foot lengths of copper ground cables
(7). 1 – Cobramatic 15 foot whip (hose) complete with wielding gun.

Tire marks at the scene indicate a pickup or other large vehicle was involved.

Break & Enter – Bridgewater, NS

Sometime overnight of June 5th and 6th 2008 a break took place at the South Shore Regional School Board bus garage compound on Phillips Street in Bridgewater.

The culprits removed assorted tools, lawn mowers, chain saws and a number of Lawn Tractors using the School Boards white dodge panel van and a truck. All the vehicle had trailers attached.
The vehicles and one trailer were recovered abandoned on Highway 103 near the Blarney Stone Restaurant. One trailer yellow in color has not been recovered.

Theft – Pictou County

Sometime between April 15 and April 22, 2008 a large amount of batteries were stolen from a truck lot on the Harris Road near Pictou.
These were old batteries which were being stock piled for sale in Ontario.

The majority of the batteries were large truck batteries made by Cat and Volvo. Mixed in were various small car batteries.
In total there were 155 batteries taken.

One very large truck or several ½ ton truck loads would be required to hold this weight.

Theft – River John, Pictou County, NS

Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help solving a case of theft from a property on River John Road in Pictou County Nova Scotia.

On March 6th, 2008 Pictou County District RCMP received a call of theft of a Street and Trail Motorcycle and chainsaw. The theft occurred from a residence on the River John Road sometime between February 25th and March 6th, 2008.
Stolen items are described as a 2006 KLX 250 motorcycle lime green in color, and a Stihl Model 028 Chainsaw.
These items were taken from a garage on the property.

Break & Enters – Musquodoboit Valley Area

Crime Stopper and RCMP are asking for the public’s help in bringing to justice the persons responsible for the following crimes which took place in the Musquodoboit Valley Area.

April 14, 2008 community of Carroll’s Corner – Residential B&E several thousand dollars worth of jewellery, tools, video games and movies stolen during day.

March 26, 2008 several cottages located on Killen Lane, off Higgins Lake Road, Elderbank were broken into, boat motor, generator, camping equipment and a firearm were stolen from the various properties. Possible suspect vehicle Dark mid size car seen on Higgins lake rd earlier that day.

May 2, 2008 Royal Canadian Legion on Caribou Rd, security bars on basement window were found cut and bent, no entry gained into building.
