Police investigate bank robbery. ( SOLVED)

Patrol investigators & investigators of the General Investigation Section are investigating a bank robbery that occurred in Halifax this afternoon.

Just after 3pm., a man entered the TD Bank located at 5495 Spring Garden Road Halifax. The man stated he had a weapon, (although none was seen) and demanded cash. The man attempted to flee the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash when an enclosed dye pack discharged causing him to drop the money before fleeing.

He was last seen traveling on Spring Garden Road. The matter is still in the early stages of investigation.

The suspect is described as a male having a “tanned complexion”, 6 feet tall and wearing a black toque.

RCMP investigates suspicious fire of storage trailer. Yarmouth

November 6, 2020, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia… Yarmouth RCMP is investigating a suspicious fire at a storage trailer on Water St. in Yarmouth.

At approximately 7 a.m. Thursday, Yarmouth RCMP and the Yarmouth Fire Department responded to a fire at a storage trailer on Water Street in Yarmouth. The trailer incurred significant damage. It contents mainly included empty cardboard boxes and it was not occupied at the time. Nobody was injured.

The investigation has determined the fire is suspicious and the investigation is ongoing.

RCMP investigates hit and run

November 5, 2020, Bedford, Nova Scotia… Halifax District RCMP is investigating a hit and run that occurred in Bedford early this morning.

At 1:30 a.m., police were called to a single vehicle collision on Hwy. 102. Upon arrival, police were notified that another vehicle was involved in the collision but did not stop. Preliminary reports indicate that a white car was travelling south bound on Hwy 102. when it was struck on the passenger side by a dark pick up truck. The car then lost control and went into the ditch. The truck continued on south bound. Police made patrols for the suspect vehicle but it was not located.

At 10:20 pm HRP officers responded to a Robbery call at the Irving on 200 Waverly Road. A lone male entered the store and approach the clerk demanding cash. The suspect made off with an amount of cash and fled toward the 111 Highway. No weapon was seen and the clerk was not harmed. The suspect was described as mid 30’s, thin to medium build, 6’, with dark pants and a dark blue hoodie.

Red Kawasaki ATV stolen from Brookside

Halifax District R.C.M.P. looking for assistance with information in relation to the theft of an ATV which was stolen sometime between Aug 18th at 0900 and Friday Aug 21st at 2000 hrs from Irisweg Drive in Brookside Tantallon area.

ATV is described as a Red Kawasaki 650 Brute Force – had a bunch of stickers on it (one is Humboldt Broncos), a winch on the front and Med Tires. Plate associated is NS 44699 . Police arrest man with gun on Spring Garden Road

Police investigate Weapons Call

At 7:58 p.m., 2^nd of November, Halifax Regional Police responded to report of a male with a firearm at Shoppers Drug Mart 5524 Spring Garden Road Halifax. Callers reported a male placing a long gun in his pants and entering the store. The male then left the store and boarded a Halifax Transit bus. Multiple officers responded and arrested the suspect on the bus. Officers confirmed there was not a robbery, however the suspect did commit a theft. Incidental to arrest officers seized a long barrel pellet/bb gun and items stolen from the store. A 34 year old male is held for court and facing charges of Using imitation firearm in the commission of an offence, Theft & Possession Under and Mischief.

Police investigate suspicious death

November 2, 2020, Pine Grove, Nova Scotia…Lunenburg District RCMP with assistance from Southwest Nova Major Crime Team and Bridgewater Police Department are investigating the suspicious death of a 57-year-old Pine Grove man.

At 3:15 p.m. on October 30, Lunenburg District RCMP responded to a local hospital for a man who is believed to have incurred life-threatening injuries on Sunday, October 25 at a residence on Jippie Ave. in Pine Grove. On November 1 police were advised 57-year-old Donny Lohnes of Pine Grove had passed away as a result of his injuries.

The investigation is ongoing with assistance from Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office. Lunenburg District RCMP is asking anyone who has information about this incident to contact them at 902-634-8674. Police Investigate Weapons Call (Shooting) – Halifax

At 4:14 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of possible gun shots in the 3000 block of Romans Avenue, Halifax. Multiple officers responded and confirmed a shooting had taken place. No one was injured and there no suspect information at this time.

Investigators with the General Investigation Section and the Forensic Identification Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation. The investigation is in its preliminary stages and is ongoing.
