RCMP investigate assault with a weapon

 September 17, 2018, Linacy, Pictou County, Nova Scotia … At approximately 7 p.m. on September 16, Pictou District RCMP responded to an assault with a weapon at a home on Merigomish Rd. in Linacy. When police arrived, they were advised that an 18-year-old man had been stabbed several times by another unknown man. The suspect had fled the scene in a vehicle driven by a third man. The victim also departed the scene prior to police arrival.

RCMP officers located the suspect vehicle a short time later and arrested the 23-year-old driver and 31-year-old passenger, for Assault With a Weapon. Both men remain in custody. The victim was located earlier today and police verified that he sustained stab wounds to his upper body, and he was offered medical treatment.

September 17, 2018, Porter’s Lake, Nova Scotia . . . On September 15 at approximately 10:55 a.m., RCMP and Halifax Fire and Emergency responded to a vehicle on fire on Sandy Point Rd. Once the fire was extinguished, the vehicle was identified as a red 2015 Chevrolet Cruze, which was reported stolen earlier that day.

Two males were seen leaving the area around the same time as the fire. They were driving an older Honda Civic. The RCMP would like to speak to these individuals to determine whether they have information about this incident. Police investigate a suspicious vehicle fire that occurred overnight in Burnside

Police are investigating a suspicious vehicle fire that occurred overnight in the Burnside area of Dartmouth.

At approximately 9:30 p.m. September 14, police along with Halifax Fire and Emergency Services responded to a report of several vehicles on fire at 50 John Savage Drive in Dartmouth. The vehicles were located in a fenced lot at the rear of the location. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, however it is believed to be suspicious.

Robbery in Yarmouth County

September 14, 2018, Plymouth, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia . . . At 8 a.m. on September 13, a 77-year-old man was going into a barn on his property when he was grabbed from behind and dragged to his vehicle by two unknown men. The men forced the victim to hand over an undisclosed amount of money. The men, who wore black clothing including face masks, then forced the victim to drive them to a nearby gravel pit where they took his cell phone, then threw his keys away. The suspects walked away from the pit on foot. The victim sustained a minor injury to his face during the altercation.

The victim found his keys and drove back home. The RCMP was contacted via 911, and Yarmouth Rural and Town detachments responded, using a police dog to attempt to locate the suspects. RCMP Forensic Identification Services is assisting with the investigation, as well as the Yarmouth/ Clare Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU). RCMP have canvassed the area and continue to look for the suspects, who remain at large.

The suspects are described as two men wearing black clothing and black face masks. They had a black backpack, and one of the men had a neck tattoo. Police attempting to identify suspect in Dartmouth break and enter

Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man in relation to a break and enter in Dartmouth.

On September 3 police responded to a commercial intrusion alarm at Safety First at 116 Thorne Street in Dartmouth.  A man had broken out a window and entered the business. He fled the area on a bicycle prior to police arrival. The suspect did not take any property from the business.

The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 6’ tall, thin, with short hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a black ball cap, sunglasses, and a black t-shirt over a gray long sleeve shirt.

Police Investigate Pedestrian – Motor Vehicle Collision

At approx. 9:03 pm, September 12, Halifax Regional Police responded to Willett St and Chelsea Lane, Halifax, for a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a single vehicle and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, an adult male , was taken to the hospital with what are believed to be life threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

Police request public’s assistance identifying suspect in robbery

Police are requesting the public’s assistance identifying the suspect in a robbery that occurred last week in Halifax.

On August 18 at 4:20 p.m., officers responded to the area of Agricola and Ontario Streets in Halifax, for a report that a woman had been robbed at that location. A man had tried to take the victim’s purse, knocking her down in the attempt. The man then fled the area empty-handed.

The suspect is described as a white man in his twenties; 5’8″, with a slim build, dark hair and clean shaven. At the time of the incident, the man was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with white print and dark shorts.

June 22, 2018, Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia … Halifax District RCMP is asking for public assistance with identifying the persons responsible for the vandalism that occurred at a church on Sackville Dr. in Lower Sackville early Wednesday morning.

Sometime between 12:00 a.m. and 1:30 a.m., two suspects were observed on a security camera at a church in the 200 block of Sackville Dr., using spray foam on doors and spray paint on exterior the church. Derogatory comments and property damage were caused to the church

“This is not art, this is a poor excuse for attention,” say’s Cpl. Dal Hutchinson, Halifax District RCMP. “There are more appropriate ways to express yourself, this is not one of them.”

Robbery University Ave Halifax

At 1426 hours on July 4, 2018  police responded to a robbery in the 5800 block of University Ave. The victim, who works at that location, saw a man holding her purse. She grabbed the purse and the suspect grabbed the victim  and took the purse back and took an undisclosed amount of money. The victim screamed and two men arrived and the suspect fled the building. The victim was not injured in the incident. The suspect is described as a white male in his 50s, tanned, medium build with short but shaggy light brown hair. He was wearing a black jacket with white lines, a t-shirt, black baseball cap with a red logo, medium length shorts and sneakers.
