April 2, 2025, Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia… RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is seeking information from the public in relation to a vehicle-pedestrian collision in Cole Harbour. 

Today, at approximately 8 a.m., RCMP officers received a report of a collision at the intersection of Cole Harbour Rd. and Perron Dr.  

Investigators learned that at approximately 7:20 a.m., a red SUV travelling east on Cole Harbour Rd. struck a pedestrian who was crossing the roadway in a marked and illuminated crosswalk near the intersection. The vehicle stopped and the driver asked the pedestrian if they were okay, but then failed to remain at the scene. 

The pedestrian, a youth from Cole Harbour, suffered minor injuries. 

The driver of the SUV is described as a white woman in her 50s. 

The investigation is ongoing.

April 2, 2025, Mill Village, Nova Scotia… Queens District RCMP has charged a man with attempt to commit murder. 

On March 28 at approximately 3:30 a.m., RCMP officers and EHS responded to a weapons call at a home on Hwy. 3 in Mill Village. When officers arrived at the scene, they located a man with life-threatening injuries and learned that another man had left in a vehicle. The victim was transported to hospital by EHS.

At approximately 7:45 a.m., officers located the suspect at home in Voggler’s Cove and he was safely arrested.

Investigators have determined that the victim, a 84-year-old man, sustained injuries consistent with being stabbed. The men were known to each other and no one else was inside the home at the time of the incident.

Derek Dominix, age 60, of Mill Village, was charged with Attempt to Commit Murder and was remanded into custody. He will appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on April 10, 2025 at 9:30 a.m.

The investigation is continuing and is being led by Queens District RCMP with support from RCMP Forensic Identification Section and the Southwest Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit.

March 31, 2025, Lower Ship Harbour, Nova Scotia… RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is investigating hate motived crime that occurred at a property in Lower Ship Harbour.

On March 25, at approximately 11:10 a.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment received a report of mischief at a residential property on West Ship Harbour Rd. RCMP officers learned that a Pride flag and an Every Child Matters flag located at the end of a driveway had been vandalized sometime the previous day.

The mischief is considered to have been motivated by hate based on race, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression.

Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance to identify a person of interest who has grey hair and was wearing a black jacket, black pants and grey shoes at the time of the incident.

The RCMP takes incidents of hate with the utmost seriousness and condemns these criminal acts.

Police are investigating after a child was approached by a stranger while waiting at a school bus stop yesterday morning in Clayton Park.

On Thursday, March 27 at 8:13 a.m., a 10-year-old child was waiting for a school bus on Langbrae Drive. A white vehicle, described as a smaller SUV, pulled up in front of the child and the driver stated he was an Uber ordered by the child’s parent. The child refused to get in the vehicle.

The driver is described as east or southeast Asian man with a black beard. He was wearing a blue t-shirt and black jacket. He spoke to the child in Hindi.

Police commend the child for refusing to get in the vehicle and reporting the incident to an adult.

Anyone with information or video from the Langbrae Drive, Chipstone Close or Dunbrack Street between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. is asked to call police at 902-490-5020.

March 28, 2025, Barrington Passage, Nova Scotia… Barrington RCMP Detachment is seeking information on the whereabouts of a man currently wanted on a province-wide arrest warrant.

Graham James Nickerson, 43, of Barrington Passage, is wanted and facing charges of:

• Sexual Assault
• Sexual Interference
• Operation while Impaired
• Refusal to Comply with Demand
• Failure to Comply with Order (two counts)

Nickerson, also known as “Bear,” is described as 5-foot-11, 190 pounds. He has dark brown hair and blue eyes.

Police have made several attempts to locate Nickerson, and are requesting assistance from the public.

March 26, 2025, Ingramport, Nova Scotia… RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is seeking the public’s assistance in relation to a theft that occurred in Ingramport.

Yesterday, at approximately 9:30 a.m., RCMP officers received a report of theft of licenced fishing gear from the Ingram Port river near Rivers End Rd. Investigators learned that two elver fishing nets were taken sometime in the early morning hours.

Later that day, information and evidence gathered led RCMP officers to complete a search at a property in Sipekne’katik. The nets were not located.

Investigators have obtained images of a person(s) of interest and are asking for the public’s assistance to identify them. The nets have an estimated value of $4,000.

March 26, 2025, Upper Tantallon, Nova Scotia… RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is seeking information in relation to an arson that occurred in Upper Tantallon.

Yesterday, at approximately 2:30 a.m., RCMP officers and fire services responded to a report of a 2016 Ford Mustang on fire on Hemlock Dr. Investigators learned that the vehicle was lit on fire by a woman who fled in a nearby sedan or small SUV.

No injuries were reported.

The woman involved is described as being between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-7, 130 pounds.

Investigators are asking anyone in the Westwood Hills area with security camera footage of suspicious vehicle activity to come forward.
