Police investigate Halifax break and enter

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a break and enter that occurred in Halifax last week where military equipment was taken.

On April 5 at approximately 3:45 a.m. officers responded to a break and enter that had just occurred at an apartment building in the 5600 block of Roberts Street in Halifax. The suspects entered the parking garage and broke into tenants’ storage lockers in the building. Building staff confronted the suspects and they fled the area on foot.

One of the suspects was located in the area a short time later and arrested after a brief struggle. The 40-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court at a later date to face one count each of break and enter and resisting arrest.

Among the items taken was a military style tactical vest, containing ballistic plates.

Police are looking to identify two more suspects. One is described as a white woman approximately 5’4” tall, 120 lbs., wearing grey sweatpants, a black raincoat, and a baseball hat. The other is described as a white man, approximately 5’8” tall, 150 lbs., wearing a black puffy jacket, a grey hooded sweatshirt, and black pants.

Lower Sackville RCMP seeking information after replica handgun discharged at a youth

April 5, 2024, Middle Sackville, Nova Scotia… RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment isseeking information in relation to a shooting involving a replica firearm in Middle Sackville.

On April 3, RCMP officers learned that the day prior, at approximately 3:35 p.m., a male youth walking along Millwood Dr., near Beaverbank Cross Rd., was fired upon with a BB gun or airsoft replica handgun from a moving vehicle.  

The youth was not struck by the projectile and did not suffer physical injuries.

The vehicle involved in the incident is described as an older grey rusted sedan with silver rims.

The driver of the vehicle is described as a White youth male.

The passenger of the vehicle, who discharged the weapon, is described as a Black youth male.

Antigonish County District RCMP seeking information after shooting in Aulds Cove

April 4, 2024, Aulds Cove, Nova Scotia… Antigonish County District RCMP is investigating shots fired that left one man injured in Aulds Cove.

On April 3 at approximately 5:50 a.m., Antigonish County District RCMP, with the assistance of Inverness County District RCMP, the Antigonish-Guysborough Street Crime Enforcement Unit, RCMP Police Dog Services, RCMP Forensic Identification Services and EHS responded to a report of shots fired at a residence on Hwy. 4.

Upon arrival on scene, officers located a 37-year-old Askilton man, outside of the residence, with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. An officer rendered first aid to the injured man while the other officers entered the residence to ensure no one else was injured.

The man was transported to hospital by EHS with non-life-threatening injuries.

At this time, investigators believe the incident was targeted in nature and that there’s no risk to the public.

Police investigate Halifax robbery  

Halifax Regional Police is investigating a robbery that occurred this morning in Fairview.

At 11:48 p.m. hours on Friday March 30th, officers responded to a report of a robbery at the Shopper Drug Mart Pharmacy located at 3430 Joseph Howe Drive, in Halifax.  A woman was inside the pharmacy and stole property, security staff approached her when she exited without paying. When staff asked her to turn over the property she produced a needle and began to thrust it the staff in a stabbing motion. The staff members were not injured.

The female suspect is described as being a white woman, approximately 5’6” in height, 25-30 years of age, thin build, strawberry blonde hair, shoulder length, wearing a black Nike baseball hat, black jacket with black shirt undeneath, blue jeans, and thick rimmed glasses. The suspect got into a silver, or white coloured SUV.

Police investigate Dartmouth assault

Halifax Regional Police is investigating an assault that occurred in Dartmouth last week.

On March 22 at approximately 10:10 p.m. officers responded to a report of an injured person in the area of 95 Victoria Road in Dartmouth.  Officers located a 17-year-old youth who appeared to have been assaulted. The youth was taken to hospital for what are believed to be non- life-threatening injuries.

Halifax Police investigate suspicious death

Halifax Regional Police are investigating a suspicious death that occurred in Dartmouth this morning.

At approximately 7:10 a.m. police received a report of a disturbance in an apartment building on Pinecrest Drive. Officers located an adult male inside the building who was deceased and arrested a 47-year-old man at the scene.

The investigation is in the early stages and more information will be provided when it becomes available.

Help Cumberland RCMP solve a truck theft

On the 8th of March, 2024 RCMP was advised that a Chevrolet Silverado had gotten stuck in the
mud off of Black River Road in Oxford, NS. The owner left the vehicle overnight and when he came
back in the morning to get it out it was gone. The vehicle is described as a 2017 silver Chev Silverado,
the vehicle had a New Brunswick temporary registration plate in the front window.

On the 2nd of December, 2023, someone stole a 1999 red Honda 300, 3 wheeler and a 2013 yellow Can-Am Commander side by side from Highway 204 in Little River, NS. Photos of ATVs are below.
