RCMP seeking public assistance in shots fired investigation

July 22, 2022, Meadowvale, Nova Scotia… Annapolis District RCMP investigate shots fired in Meadowvale.

On July 21, 2022, at approximately 11:15 a.m., Annapolis District RCMP received a complaint of shots fired at a house on Hwy. 201 in Meadowvale. RCMP officers learned that a number of gun shots were heard shortly after 1 a.m. and a vehicle was then seen leaving the scene. There were no injuries sustained in the incident however the house incurred damage consistent with bullet holes.

RCMP officers and a police dog searched the area and evidence was located and seized from the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and being assisted by the RCMP Forensic Identification Section.

RCMP seeking public assistance in theft of vehicle investigation

July 22, 2022, Blockhouse, Nova Scotia… Lunenburg District RCMP recover stolen vehicle during a traffic stop in Blockhouse.

On July 13, 2022, a white 2012 Toyota Prius was stolen from a parking lot on St. Margarets Bay Rd. in Upper Tantallon.

On July 19, at approximately 11:15 a.m., Lunenburg District RCMP completed a traffic stop of the stolen vehicle near Hwy. 103 in Blockhouse. RCMP officers observed the driver jump out of the car while it was still in motion and run into a nearby wooded area.

An RCMP police dog and officer began tracking the man but were required to stop when the dog came in contact with a porcupine. The police dog received medical care and will make a full recovery.

The investigation is ongoing and being assisted by the RCMP Forensic Identification Section.

Police continue to investigate murder of Glenn Brian Bourgeois

Today marks the 15th anniversary of the murder of Glenn Brian Bourgeois and the Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continue to investigate the case.

At approximately 4 p.m. on July 21, 2007, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Maynard and Woodill streets in Halifax. Upon arrival officers located 27-year-old Glenn Bourgeois, who was suffering from several gunshot wounds. Glenn later died as a result of his injuries. Witnesses reported seeing two men fleeing the area immediately after the shooting, one of whom had a firearm in his hand.

Investigators believe that there are people who have information that could help solve Glenn’s murder.  We hope that the passage of time will encourage them to do the right thing and come forward with what they know. It is never too late to come forward and the smallest piece of information may be just what is needed to progress the investigation.

Investigators ask anyone with information about this crime to call (902) 490-5016. Yarmouth Rural RCMP seeking public assistance in theft investigation

July 21, 2022, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia…Yarmouth Rural RCMP is investigating the theft of lobster traps set in the ocean by fishermen near Yarmouth.

On July 20, 2022, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Yarmouth Rural RCMP received a complaint of missing lobster traps that were set in the ocean by fishermen near Yarmouth. RCMP officers learned that approximately 70 lobster traps, belonging to one fishing boat, have been missing from where they were set since July 11.

The investigation is ongoing.

Police are investigating a Halifax robbery

Police are investigating a robbery that occurred earlier today in Halifax.

At approximately 3:15 p.m. police responded to a robbery at the Shoppers Drug Mart located at 6025 Almon Street. Two men entered the store, stole merchandise and then fled to a vehicle. Officers located the vehicle nearby and attempted to stop it, however the driver refused to stop.  Officers did not attempt to pursue the vehicle out of concerns for public safety.

The first suspect is described white 5’5” tall and wearing a black tank top. The second suspect is described as white and was wearing a ball cap. The vehicle is described as a black Dodge Ram pickup truck.

Police investigate stabbing

Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred earlier tonight in Halifax.

At approximately 11:31 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a report that a man had been stabbed in the 5000 block of Salter Street in Halifax. Officers located a 21-year-old victim the suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital for treatment.

Officers arrested two men, ages 20 and 21, a short distance away from the scene. 

This investigation is in the early stages, investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating the incident. Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in Dartmouth last night.

At approximately 10:40 p.n., officers responded to a robbery that had just occurred in the 0-100 block of Highfield Park Drive.  A food delivery driver was assaulted and stabbed by another man not known to him. The man continued to assault the victim and attempted to take his property. The suspect then fled the area on foot.
