Here are just a few examples of how Crime Stoppers Tipsters have helped fight crime in Nova Scotia.

A metro man wanted on a warrant for being AWOL was arrested on a tip from this office. Now he has an additional charge to plead to. Two outstanding cases have also been cleared as a result of his arrest.

Six charges ranging from theft, to fraudulent use of a credit card as well as a breach of probation charge were laid against a couple from East Hants District. Two cases were cleared and $1,350.00 in stolen property had been recovered. In this case the tipster saw the crime advertised on our Crime Of The Week Television sponsor – Global TV. The tipster recognized the photos and immediately passed the information on to this office.

An East Hants man was identified as the being responsible for a robbery in the Shelburne area of the province in early May this year. The tipster’s accurate information as to where a suspect was hiding in East Hants was instrumental in police making a successful arrest. The tipster was also able to provide our investigators with an officer safety issue where the tipster alert our members to two vicious dogs on the suspect’s property.

A Mulgrave man was identified for a break, enter and theft from a residence in the town. The lead investigator used an additional source to corroborate the information provided by this office. Our tipster also provided information on two other break and enters the accused might be involved in and that tip is now under investigation.

A metro man wanted on three outstanding criminal code charges had another added to them when he was arrested violating the conditions or his release this past month.

Another metro man, also a fugitive from justice was arrested at a local residence. This person has been on the run for 7 months. He was remanded on the three outstanding charges.

Two adult men was identified as being in a series of break, enter and thefts in the South shore area of the province. Fourteen charges have been laid, seven cases solved and $2,500.00 in stolen goods recovered.

A metro woman previously identified and arrested on outstanding charges both here and in Cumberland county has had four additional fraud related charges laid against her.
